An Affordable Vacation On St Lucia In A Caribbean Inn

Why spend a fortune in St Lucia when you can stay in a charming bed and breakfast style Caribbean Inn and see the real St Lucia Need an affordable vacation without children to amuse, where the two of you can just disappear off the radar for a week or two? You want to go to St Lucia, and you don’t want to stay in a five star or even a four star, and you certainly don’t want an all-inclusive. You are also looking for an affordable holiday, staying at a Caribbean Inn, bed and breakfast type of place, and definitely off the beaten track. In this case you need to consider the Fox Grove Inn. It is a Caribbean Country Inn located in Mon Repos with views over Praslin Bay and Fregate Island Nature reserve. You will find the Fox Grove Inn to be a most delightful place, so much so it has even been recommended by the London Times. You might well read about it as a bed and breakfast establishment. This is an expression quite often used on Caribbean Islands to describe what is in fact an Inn, and Fox Grove Inn is exactly that, with 10 rooms. It even offers fine dining, and people come from a fair distance to eat here. As far as it being an affordable holiday there is little doubt that a maximum rate of USD83 per room plus taxes is hardly going to break the bank. There is a self catering option with a 2 bedroomed apartment to the side which if occupied by four persons will cost USD1260 for a fortnight, a rate of USD90 per night. This rate by the way doesn’t include breakfast but there is a fully equipped kitchen and a terrace to enjoy the views of the bay and the green hills. One of the really delightful things about Fox Grove Inn is how laid back it is, and it has such a friendly atmosphere, so much so that you will very quickly learn what life on St Lucia is like at a local level, something you’ll never see in a large concrete hotel. The service and attention from the staff are exceptional, so there’s not much more to ask for really. The rooms are simple, but extremely clean, and some have a really stunning view over the banana plantations to the sea beyond. There is a good sized pool, with sun loungers, and enough for all the guests, although the pool was never busy, because the kind of guests who stay here aren’t the type to be lying around in the sun all day, and they are therefore all very interesting to chat to. An affordable vacation is usually full of drawbacks, one of them being food, but as indicated earlier, Fox Grove Inn offers a fine dining experience. The food here has been described as the best in St Lucia, and that is no exaggeration, with large home cooked breakfasts, and lunch and dinner to really savour down to the last mouthful. The dining area takes full advantage of the views, and one of the great joys is a Caribbean cocktail on the terrace with a cooling breeze, good company, and a superb view. A final comment about this quite glorious affordable vacation on St Lucia at the Fox Grove Inn, is that it is the best possible place to experience true St Lucian hospitality.

A Romantic Bed And Breakfast Inn On St Lucia

Before booking into a large hotel on St Lucia, check out the best bed and breakfast romantic Inn on St Lucia with some of the qualities of a five star hotel The Inn on the Bay has only five spacious rooms, but this romantic bed and breakfast inn is really hiding its light under a bushel because it is one of the best, most popular romantic, intimate, and exclusive hotels in St Lucia, if not the entire Caribbean The Inn on the Bay has been described as the perfect hideaway for lovers and honeymooners, overlooking Marigot Bay the most beautiful bay in the Caribbean. The biggest problem about writing about such a hidden gem as the Inn on the Bay is that you open it up to many other people to make reservations that the Inn on the Bay will be a secret hideaway no longer. Guests frequently comment that they never feel like paying guests, but much more like friends who had been asked to stay, and that is a great compliment to the owners Normand and Louise whose personal touch and personality make this such a delightful place. They cannot do enough for their guests including Normand happily dropping guests down at Marigot Bay, and then picking them up again at a moments notice, saving a gruelling fifteen minute uphill climb. The best thing of all is how personalised all of the service is. Inn on the Bay is described as the number one bed and breakfast hotel in St Lucia, but it is so much more than that. The words bed and breakfast conjures up Blackpool in England landladies who turf you out after breakfast telling you not to return until bedtime. Nothing in the world could be further from that image. This isn’t a bed and breakfast in the sense of the word, much more a romantic small hotel, both intimate, and exclusive at the same time. When describing the Inn on the Bay as having five rooms, this omits to mention that the Inn is actually perched, and that is not an overstatement, 300 feet high on the south cliff above Marigot Bay, and this of course means stunning views from nearly everywhere and especially the swimming pool. The whole position is remarkable, being one property from the edge of the point. The rooms at the Inn on the Bay overlook the pool, are large, with high ceilings, and enormous bathroom, and cooled by the breezes, bearing in mind how high up you are. The full continental breakfast certainly sets you up for the day and the fresh fruit and croissants will remain a happy memory long after you leave. Of course with breakfast being the meal served at Inn on the Bay, and whilst you can relax all day by the pool sipping rum punches at this romantic hotel, just watching the plethora of yachts in the bay, it is good to see a little of marigot Bay if not the rest of St Lucia. By the way the breakfast room stays open all day and you can help yourself to tea, coffee, hot chocolate, which is a nice homely touch. The beach at the bay is relaxing, just about big enough but go to the rocky end to swim, and be prepared for the music blaring out from the restaurants. The location and the owners are the real key to the success of Inn on the Bay. Normand will make the suggestions for your daytime activity, get you there, or at the very least organize it, and then make sure you book the right restaurant at night, and drop you off, and pick you up. You won’t find a better location on St Lucia, and very probably nothing as romantic, homely, and relaxing as the Inn on the Bay.
